These stunning handcrafted wooden grave markers are made to order right here in our UK workshop with considerable care and attention to detail. If you are looking for an alternative to the common headstone, or you have gone down the green burial route, we will produce the finest English Oak burial marker for you. Our eco-friendly engraved solid oak grave markers feature a solid oak plaque mounted on a 3 inch square solid oak post. The post comes 60cm long, giving you at least 30cm to be secured into the ground. The plaque itself is made from a single solid piece of superior-grade English Oak, fitting to a substantial solid oak post at 45 degrees.
Finish:
As with everything we do here at Make Me Something Special, we have spent the time researching and sourcing the perfect materials available. Each oak memorial plaque is handmade from one piece of Air Dried Superior Grade English Oak. This Timber is perfectly seasoned and adjusted for outdoor conditions. You can choose to leave your plaque untreated, finished in Superior Danish Oil or our low-maintenance Diamond Coating finish. If you choose untreated your product will weather to a pale silver more quickly. Danish Oil will not only treat the timber but also bring out the timber’s natural colour. This has a UV filter to protect the timber but it does require regular upkeep. 2 – 4 times a year to keep it looking its best. Diamond Coating is more glossy but a lot more harder wearing and only requires a top-up once a year, however, this depends on the weather and where the product is placed. We would recommend twice a year if you want full protection. Top up kits can be ordered over the phone or on our website
Please Note: It is always worth checking with the cemetery or natural burial site about what they allow with regard to the size of the memorial plaque and finish.
Personalise your wooden Grave Marker:
These beautiful wooden grave markers come with a personalised engraving of your choice up to 100 characters included, however, if this is not enough, you have the option to make this up to 200 characters if more inscription is needed. You have complete control over how you want the layout to be and we can provide a preview once you have placed your order for you to approve before we begin carving.

Carved Motifs:
Here at our Surrey Hills workshop, we have over 3000 carvings on file, so when it comes to a carved motif to go alongside your engraved lettering on your memorial plaque, we pretty much have everything you could think of. If not we have bespoke service to create and design a carving of your choice. We can even copy designs and digital artworks and logos.

Bespoke Sizes:
When it comes to ordering your engraved wooden burial marker it is always a good idea to check with the burial site first. In our experience, most of the sites we supply have strict guidelines when it comes to plaque sizes. If you require a bespoke size plaque, this is not a problem for us to make for you.
