This elegant oak swing we have named our Porch Swing as it is unlike our traditional garden rope swings due to its size. This is a swing you can cover with a throw or sheepskin with a cushion and sit comfortably and gently sway back and forth.
The oak swing seat itself is huge, wider than most oak boards you can pick up from a sawmill. It is specially chosen for its wide span, measuring 4.5cm thick x 40cm deep x 1 meter long. This swing is large enough to take 2 people but is designed to be more of a lounging style swing.
Because of the size of the oak swing seat, the ropes are fed in and out in eight places creating two large loops. These loops are then collected and tied off with a beautiful spliced knot which becomes the rope used to hang the swing. The effect is stunning.

Finish:
We have spent time researching and sourcing the perfect materials available. Each oak swing is handmade from one piece of Air Dried Superior Grade English Oak. This Timber is perfectly seasoned and adjusted for outdoor conditions. You can choose to leave your swing untreated, finished in Superior Danish Oil or our low-maintenance Diamond Coating finish. If you choose untreated your product will weather to a pale silver more quickly. Danish Oil will not only treat the timber but also bring out the timbers natural colour. This has a UV filter to protect the timber but it does require regular upkeep. 2 – 4 times a year to keep it looking its best. Diamond Coating is more glossy but a lot more harder wearing and only requires a top up once a year, however this depends on the weather and where the product is placed. We would recommend twice a year if you want full protection. Top up kits can be ordered over the phone or on our website
Our Rope:
All of our personalised oak garden swings come fitted with 5 metres of Synthetic Hemp Rope (on both sides). The rope is handmade in the UK by experts. The rope is a strong marine quality that is mellow in colour, soft to touch, and being synthetic it won’t swell, shrink or rot, unlike natural rope. Longer lengths of rope are available if required, please let us know how much you need.
All Swings come ready to hang. You can tie your oak swing directly from a tree branch or we can supply marine quality fittings, ideal for adjustment without having to climb the tree. They can also be hung from frames, porches and other such like.
Personalisation:
Our tree swings are available blank with standard engraving or can be personalised with your message. Up to 50 characters per side. You can also add carved hearts, stars and other engraved motifs.
These stunning tree swing seats look fantastic with coordinates of very special places and unforgettable times.
We can also engrave a secret or personal message for you on the underside of your swing, making your tree swing that little bit extra special. Something like a reading from your wedding day, a favourite poem or quote, something witty or just something secret you don’t want anyone else to see – but you know it’s there.
